SURRENDER (94) 11/7/2003 10:00p
Okay, so when Sully and Halsted leave Sully’s they are in a cop car. At some point they switch to an ambulance. I picture some ‘Fear Factor’ “You have to jump from the car to the ambulance while traveling at 45 mph, and you must land entirely in the ambulance for it to count” stuff. Cruz ran all the way from the undercover minivan to the courthouse, three miles away. Look out for ‘Sergeant Cruz Runs the City,’ coming Fall 2004 on MTV. Take that, P-Diddy. Plus,Yokas sets a new record for using the word “bitch” 2,000 times in 30 seconds. And she did it with a winged hairdo, no less.
{to Monroe}
Cruz: Stop treating me like I’m just another vic. I’m anything but.
Halsted: Don’t I have any say in this?
Sully: No.
{to Monroe}
Cruz: All the damn hospitals in this city and you’ve got to bring me to this one.

Monroe: If you’re going after this guy, I’m going with you.
Cruz: I didn’t invite you.
{to Monroe}
Cruz: Meet me here 10:00 am sharp. And don’t think you can stop me when I get this guy.
Fred: I don’t know what you need to say. That’s why it might be a good idea to let someone who does know what to listen for, let them hear about it.
Yokas: I don’t want to.
Fred: Maybe that means it’s a really good idea.
Sully: So all we gotta do is get her to a real safehouse and lay low until we scoop up this bunch.
Halsted: No, no, no, no. I’m going to be on the bench this afternoon for the hearing.
Sully: That’s crazy. These people are desperate.
Halsted: I’m going to be there.
{to Davis about Halsted}
Sully: This woman’s making me crazy.
Sully: You’re pretty hard on yourself.
Halsted: I’m hard on everyone. Why should I give myself a break?
Bosco: Put me on first. I’ll piss this defense attorney off so much he’ll have me on for an hour.
Dianne: It’s always something with you, isn’t it?
Bosco: Look, this time I’ll be your knight in shining armor.
Dianne: Oh, yeah, that’s got me oozing confidence.

Halsted: I’ve never been late for court. I’m not about to start now.
Davis: I don’t know about the guy, Hank. But I hear the lady’s pretty good at her job.
Carlos: Don’t you guys have anyone else to shoot?
Davis: Don’t tempt me, man.
Sully: You see a white guy, 40s, balding, uh, short with a cheap blue sport jacket?
Davis: No. Who is it?
Sully: Let’s just say he and Animal acknowledged each other in a big way in that courtroom.
{about being at the psychiatrist}
Yokas: Why do I feel like I have to take a test that I didn’t study for?
{to Animal in the court room}
Bosco: Keep smiling, pal.
Halsted: So, what sort of assignment is your Sergeant Cruz on?
Kaydar: What difference does that make?
Halsted: I’m not addressing you, Mr. Kaydar.
Dianne: I really don’t know, Your Honor.
Kaydar: Of course not.
Halsted: So, you’re not sure when she’ll be here?
Dianne: No ma’am.
Kaydar: Today is the day my client must be tried. We’ve answered ready and he’s not waived his right to---
Halsted: I heard you the first time, Mr. Kaydar.
Sully: Anybody sees me dressed like this they’ll think I’m an insurance salesman.
Connelly: Why don’t we start with you telling me how you were injured.
Yokas: Yeah, how much time you got?
{about Lettie}
Kaydar: You were present at the scene. You witnessed her fatal injury?
Cruz: I was there. She died in my arms.
Yokas: My partner, he dumps me. And this bitch sergeant, this upstairs, loudmouth, high-riding, corrupt cop turns my partner into a criminal.
Kaydar: Have you ever been brought up on department charges? G.O. 15? Civilian complaints?
Cruz: All of the above.
Cruz: The chances that I take are on me! They’re on my head! No one else!
Yokas: That bitch cop, shoots me, and no one even seems to give a damn. You’re damn right I’m pissed. And I have had enough. And you’re damn right I wanted to shoot that bitch. {pauses} That...that, I didn’t...that’s not, that didn’t come out right.
{over radio}
Davis: 5-5 Charlie. What’s the ETA of that backup and ESU?
Dispatcher: Stand by, Charlie.
Davis: Stan--- You want me to tell the bad guys to stand by?
