FOREVER BLUE (121) 1/7/2005 9:00p
Captain Finney sees the past and the present all at once. Creepy.

{flashback – voiceover}
Police Academy Instructor: Before you hit the street, decide what kind of a cop you’re going to be. Are you going to make a difference? Are you going to make a difference to the people you serve? Just taking a meal is corruption. You’re gonna get nothing for free ladies and gentlemen. They’re gonna want something from you. Each day, members of New York’s finest risk their lives in defense of the community they serve. Ladies and gentlemen, I am honored to present the newest members of our blue family. The graduating class of 1979. We are all forever grateful.

{flashback}
Davis, Sr.: Sullivan.
Sully: Yes, sir.
Davis, Sr.: I’m Davis, your Training Officer. Don’t wanna be, but that’s where we’re at.

{about Raymond’s letters}
Sully: I guess he thought because I was Davis’ partner I might be interested.
Sharon: But you never opened them before today? Sully: I was pretty sure I knew what they said.
Sharon: So why didn’t you notify Corrections to pull them before they reached you?
Sully: Getting a reminder letter from the shooter every now and then was a small price to pay for not stepping up.

Sharon: You could end up in prison, a disgraced ex-cop.
Sully: I disgraced myself the moment I decided to keep my mouth shut. This is my one chance to get my dignity back.

Monroe: You wanna work with me?
Sully: I don’t like you. But we have something in common.
Monroe: What?
Sully: Ty.

{to Monroe}
Sully: So, how long you been a rat?

Monroe: I joined IAB because I wanted to. I’m a black woman, so in order for me to get ahead I gotta work ten times harder and be 100 percent better. They told me I could help the department find the bad apples and in two years I’d have my gold shield. I’m not apologizing for any of that.

Sully: So what do we do now?
Monroe: I dunno.
Sully: I thought you were good at this.
Monroe: I don’t know who told you that.
Sully: You got Cruz.
Monroe: I was wrong.
Sully: Couple of winners we are, huh? One disgruntled cop and a detective with a crappy track record.

{flashback – deciding to become partners}
Davis, Sr.: How ‘bout we leave things the way they are right now?
Sully: Seriously?
Davis, Sr.: I hate being a Training Officer, and, uh, you know, you’re kind of standable.
Sully: Yeah, I guess you’re okay too.

Monroe: Hey Sully?
Sully: Yeah?
Monroe: How much 70’s music do you have?
O(84kb)

Sully: You did a lot of bad things way back when, Tommy Boy. It’s time to set the record straight.

Monroe: Officer Sullivan isn’t a rat.
Tommy Boy: How the hell do you know, lady?
Monroe: Detective Monroe, IAB.

Tommy Boy: What the hell have you done, Sully?
Sully: What we all should’ve done 20 years ago. Told the truth.

{to Tommy Boy}
Monroe: Your grandson idolizes you. How come he didn’t know you were a sergeant in the NYPD?

{about Vicetti}
Sully: Let’s just say the only reason this guy’s not a member of the Klan is he can’t find the rally.

{flashback – about Davis, Sr.}
Vicetti: You got a soft spot for the Black Panther, huh?
Sully: How ‘bout I make a soft spot in your head?

{flashback – about Vicetti}
Sully: Guy needs a beating.
Davis, Sr.: Hey, forget him.
Sully: He’s a bigot.
Davis:, Sr.: Everybody’s a bigot.
Sully: Not everybody.
Davis, Sr.: Yeah they are. It’s just not always about color.
Sully: He still needs a beating.

{flashback}
Sully: What’s going on?
Davis, Sr.: What do you mean?
Sully: You guys all look like you just saw your first titty movie.
Davis, Sr.: Hey, CT was just telling us all a joke.
Sully: Yeah? I didn’t know he was funny.
Davis, Sr.: Some days more than others.

Monroe: Guilt’s a bitch, huh?

{flashback}
Sully: Crap.

Sully: Damn Finney’s kid for coming to the precinct and bringing all this back up.

Sully: I took money.
Monroe: What?
Sully: I took it because they were all watching me.
Monroe: Okay. All right. That’s okay.
Sully: Guess you can lock me up now, IAB.

Sully: How can I convince these guys to come back and tell the truth when I’m not even telling the truth myself?

Sully: You know, all I ever wanted to be was a good cop.
Monroe: It’s not too late.

Monroe: Do you remember Brian McKinley, IAB detective in charge of the investigation? Well someone put a Plus-P in his head. And Raymond Morris? He was the kid who shot Ty, Sr. He got shanked in prison last week.
Danny: Well, it wasn’t me. I was here.

Sully: The point is, CT’s covering his tracks. It’s only a matter of time before he gets to you out here.
Danny: If he can find me.
Monroe: Your address is on file with the pension board. That’s how we found you.
O(244kb)

Danny: I only called in a disturbance at that park. That’s all I did.
Sully: So that was you?
Danny: I didn’t have no choice.
Sully: He was good to you. Always stuck up for you whenever Vicetti was picking on you.
Danny: That’s all I did. That’s all I did.

Danny: Murray…is where Murray always is.

Murray: You look like someone I used to know.
Sully: So do you.

Murray: Tommy Boys always used to say that one day Sully would come around just to make things right. That’s what he used to say to CT. He said one day you would come for us all.
Sully: Here I am.

Danny: How many times have we talked about this, Scotty? Fixing it.
Murray: It can’t be fixed. He’s dead, stupid.
Danny: We can do what we can, Scotty.

Murray: CT’s not going down. You know him!
Sully: I also know why you’re hiding in the bottom of a bottle!

Murray: Why can’t you just leave this alone?!
Sully: Ty Davis, Junior is why, man. He’s a cop now. A good one. CT’s gonna take him out too if we don’t stop him.

Sully: If you’re that close to the end Scotty, you wanna get on the right side of the truth, don’t you?

Danny: It’s the right thing Scotty.
Murray: Shut up.

Monroe: Think this is gonna be enough?
Sully: They’re all we’ve got.

{about Danny and Murray}
Monroe: Did you ever think about what’s gonna happen when these guys figure out that Tommy Boy isn’t coming?
Sully: These two? Maybe they won’t notice.

Monroe: Gentlemen, in case we’ve all forgotten why we’re here, there’s someone I’d like you to meet. This is Tyrone Davis, Junior. Ty Davis’ son.

Davis: Why would you do this?
Danny: Because---
Murray: Because it’s the right thing.

DA: I appreciate the trouble you’ve gone to and what these gentlemen are willing to risk. However, Mr. Murray’s cologne isn’t quite covering up the Scotch and my gut tells me that a decent defense attorney could unravel Mr. McGowan in three and a half minutes.

Tommy Boy: Sorry to intrude. I was also eavesdropping. I apologize for that. Long time, boys.
DA: Who are you?
Tommy Boy: I’m Thomas Mack. I live in Bedford Falls, New York. Look, uh, I own a very successful restaurant. I also have a BA degree in business at Fordham University. Eighteen years ago I retired from the NYPD. Six commendations, Medal of Valor. Until this morning, I was too ashamed to, uh…well…I was too ashamed to tell my little grandson about that.

Capt. Finney: That you, Mack?
{Capt. Finney sees young Tommy Boy}
Tommy Boy: Time to pay the piper, boss.
Capt. Finney: What the hell is going on?
Sully: Oh, I think you know.

{to Capt. Finney}
Davis: It’s over, Captain.
O(32kb)

DA: Captain Finney, I wanted you to see the gravity of your situation as it relates to the murder of Officer Tyrone Davis, Senior. I suggest you turn yourself in to your Police Department and bring a lawyer. If you’re not there by 9:00 am tomorrow morning I’ll have a warrant sworn out against you and we’ll come to your house.

{to Monroe}
Davis: I’m not ready to talk about it. But I get what you did for me and I’m grateful. All right?

Davis: Yeah, I need to talk to you, man.
Finney: What? You couldn’t wait a half an hour? I’m on my way to work right now.
Davis: It’s about your father.
Finney: Well, what about my father?
Davis: Something happened today and I want you to hear it from me.
